Global Fertility Rates Falling

The next time you hear somebody say that we need to "reduce the population of the world," show them this graph. As nations industrialize, the number of children that couples choose to have declines dramatically. Within the next couple decades, the population will level off naturally, as the fertility rate will head toward TWO (2 children to replace 2 parents=no population growth).

Radical environmentalists argue that we should kill human beings or at least impose a planetary population regime worse than that of even China (complete with forced abortions, covert forcible sterilization of the population, and even sterilant implants for every citizen) all because human beings are supposedly going to over-run the planet if draconian or even murderous measures are not taken. It's not true; the population is leveling off naturally.
