Matthews: Presidential address is a "religious experience"

So it turns out the Obama-as-God intimations were not limited to the ecstatic national worship fest that surrounded his inauguration. (Remember when the MSNBC host said that Obama was "sort of God"?)

Chris Matthews took his normal veiled worship of Obama to the next level, stating on his MSNBC "Hardball" show last week that it is a "religious experience when the president speaks in that chamber (Congress),” and that it is therefore an outrage for someone to “speak as if he were the equal of the president.”

Matthews' outrage at a mere mortal considering himself equal to the Caesar in the religious services held at the capital was a reference to the heretic, Joe Wilson, who blasphemously accused the God-President of being a liar. "You Lie!", said Wilson to Obama, instead of "Caesar is Lord."

Well, "You Lie!" is a good start, Mr. Wilson. But to be accurate, you should add "you steal" and "you murder" to the list. This is not an attack on Obama, but the reality of the nature of an aggressive government. They lie, they steal, and they murder.

Jesus once stated that the "Father of Lies" (the devil) "comes only to steal and kill and destroy." Isn't it interesting that stealing and killing and lying is the very essence of Satan, and the very same occupation is the full-time job of the imperial state?

This is not surprising, since Satan is the "god of this age" (2 Cor 4:4) who rules the kingdoms of this world (see Chapter 9 of The Way, the Truth and the Sword).

It says "In God We Trust" above the president, but if we "put our trust in princes (politicians), in mortal man who cannot save," (Psalm 146:3) then this "god" that we put our trust in is the "god of this age"--the devil, himself.

Yes, Chris Matthews, when the presdint speaks in Congress it IS a religious experience for those who worship the state by putting their trust in it. It is indeed a religious experience. A satanic one.
