Fake news from Gulf War

Professional actor reports on the Gulf War from a studio set. Raw footage of totally staged CNN reporting shows the propagandistic nature of news. (Beware, a couple swear words are used.)

My favorite line is "because of military regulations we are not allowed to show you" [beyond this few-foot image of me in front of this studio set].

The gas mask routine at 7:00 is priceless.

The Message to millions of Americans watching CNN? Saddam is so scary and unpredictable. Fear him. And trust the good guys, your salvation, the U.S. Government.

  1. Were they smoking pot? Goofy laughter, mentioning food, goofy behavior. Yeah, one guy gets his mask on, the other gets a helmet on--both are not fully protected. A whiff of something? Like Bullshit?

  2. Regardless of your view of the Gulf War, I'm not sure you can implicate/blame the US government for this video, if it's truly CNN that put this together (it doesn't seem very professionally produced to me). There is nothing on this video to indicate government involvement in producing it. At worst, it would show CNN to be a corrupt news source (though in all fairness to CNN, this video seems bogus to me).

  3. Anonymous, please watch your language. Do you realize how unprofessional and offensive you sound? How will you ever be taken seriously if you talk like a drunken sailor?

  4. This is NOT "staged CNN reporting"! It is obvious that the real CNN had nothing to do with this. The implication that CNN was involved in this post should be removed from the post's description.

  5. 1) I didn't say the U.S. Government was involved in producing this piece. Your accusation there is confusing. [Though I will say now that considering the subject--the coverage of the Gulf War--I would be surprised if the military was not involved.]

    2) I'm not sure what you mean by "this video seems bogus to me." Explain.

    3) What do you mean by "this is not staged CNN reporting"? I'm confused. This is a CNN news team reporting on fake chemical weapons attacks from a studio set while laughing and joking about putting gas masks on. I will remove anything that isn't fair, but can you help me out by showing me how I've been unfair to CNN?
